Coach Laak started the Georgia Diving Club in 1987 during his first year as the Head Men's and Women's Diving Coach for the University of Georgia. Coach Laak is in his 21st year with the Bulldogs. During his tenure Coach Laak has coached two NCAA National Champions, numerious NCAA All-Americans, SEC Champions, US Diving National Team Members, several US Diving National Champions, and Junior National finalists. Coach Laak's duties with GDC include Club President, Head Senior Coach, and Head Junior Olympic Coach. He is also the camp director of the Georgia Diving Camp held each summer. Coach Brooke Bassham
Coach Bassham is starting her third year with the Georgia Diving Club. Coach Bassham moved to Athens from Moultrie, Georgia to attend UGA as part of the Bulldog Diving Team. Coach Bassham duties with the Georgia Diving Club will be as the Head Lesson Coach and she will also be assisting with the Junior Olympic Program. Coach Bassham can be reached at bbassham@uga.edu.
